Gonzalo Pérez, bombero de Tilisarao contó a La Voz detalles del rescate en el arroyo Cortaderas

La tarde era apacible y como siempre que hace buen tiempo, la gente de la zona elige el río para bañarse y pasar un rato de tranquilidad en un lugar que se presta para el descanso y refrescarse del calor. Pero no fue un día más, dado que “es una zona en la que suele haber crecidas” nos cuenta Gonzalo Pérez, bombero de Tilisarao, quién es parte del equipo de rescate a cargo de Hernán Molina, que actúo hoy en el rescate de las 8 personas que se encontraban varadas tras la crecida del Cortaderas.

Antes de la crecida

“Lo que sucedió es que llovió en Córdoba y eso generó la crecida, que no fue detectada por el servicio meteorológico de San Luis”, nos cuenta, sobre todo porque el “arroyo crece en 4 minutos”. Gonzalo presta servicio en un cuartel de bomberos que se encuentran a 50 km del hecho, y cuenta con una brigada especializada de rescate en agua, para lo cual recibieron capacitación especial. Pero cuando llegaron, si bien rescataron a casi todas las víctimas, una mujer, presumiblemente vecina de Carpintería, había fallecido. Cabe destacar, que desde el primer momento, Damián Gómez, quién esta a cargo del programa “San Luis solidario”, se puso a disposición del operativo.

El cuartel de bomberos en el que se encuentra Gonzalo cuenta con escaso presupuesto, y si bien no suelen hacer este tipo de rescates, dado que no son típicos, lo que les envían desde la Nación para sus tareas les dura sólo un mes. Con la aprobación de la ley 0938/2017 la provincia aporta fondos para su funcionamiento, el cual nunca alcanza, porque los operativos suelen ser costosos. En enero recibieron por primera vez $210.000 del subsidio provincial, aunque originalmente les correspondían $105.000, pero como tenían rota la camioneta, el estado provincial aportó lo faltante para arreglarla.

Por esta razón, el cuartel subsiste con el apoyo de la comunidad de Tilisarao, las rifas que organizan los bomberos y los aportes que pueda hacer la municipalidad es todo con lo que cuentan. En situaciones como esta, y a pesar de lamentar el fallecimiento de una vecina, no alcanzan los elogios para estos héroes que, ante las adversidades, siempre ponen el pecho para cuidar a los suyos. Por suerte, a partir de la mencionada ley, los bomberos voluntarios reciben cobertura de salud, mediante la obra social provincial y un seguro de accidentes personales.

Se sabe que todos los presupuestos son finitos, pero para darnos una idea de la magnitud de lo sucedido hoy, participaron 60 bomberos aproximadamente de cuarteles de las zonas aledañas, a lo que hay que sumarle todos aquellos que, como Gonzalo, estaban en la logística, detrás del frente de batalla, por lo que todavía es difícil establecer el costo aproximado del mismo. El día a día de personas como Gonzalo está cargado de stress, porque luchan contra adversidades que no siempre son fáciles de combatir, pero siempre están ahí tratando de dar lo mejor de sí para salvaguarda de todos nosotros. ¡Solo resta agradecerles!
