El personal médico del país se manifestó en contra del Ejército y afirmó que solo trabajarán en el contexto de un Estado democrático.

Ante el clima desolador que marcó los primeros días de febrero en la ex Birmania, se hicieron presentes los primeros signos de disidencia. El personal médico, identificado con cintas rojas, tomó una postura anti-golpista y se erige como baluarte de la desobediencia civil. Aung San Ming, quien maneja un hospital en Magway declaró: «Sólo obedeceremos al gobierno democráticamente elegido».

Frente al Hospital General de Rangún, capital económica, los trabajadores de la salud se manifestaron. En señal de protesta saludaron con tres dedos, en alusión a los movimientos prodemocráticos de Hong Kong y Tailandia.

El coraje de este sector impulsó a la población a movilizarse: en Facebook crearon un Movimiento de Desobediencia Civil y ya tiene cientos de miles de seguidores. Incluso la ganadora del Nobel de la Paz de 1991, Aung San Suu Kyi, lanzó una comunicación en la que anima al pueblo birmano a salir a las calles y rebelarse. Sin embargo, ella y los demás miembros del gobierno derrocado permanecen en detención.

La condena global

En el plano internacional la situación se recrudeció. La postura oficial en la Casa Blanca es de rechazo ante el Golpe de Estado, y suspendieron la ayuda que Estados Unidos le daba al país asiático. En Francia buscan que desde la Unión Europea se sancione a Myanmar, aunque los sucesos de 2017 contra la minoría rohinyá ya condenaron al país en el plano jurídico.

Quien aún no tomó ninguna resolución oficial es la ONU: la organización presidida por Antonio Guterres investiga al país por presunto genocidio desde el año 2017 y no hay precisiones sobre las medidas que tomará a raíz de la irrupción militar.
