Golpe de Estado en Myanmar: el gobierno militar decretó Ley Marcial
Tras las multitudinarias protestas del domingo, la junta militar dispuso un toque de queda. Sin embargo, la juventud sigue batallando en las calles.
El día lunes fue decretada en Myanmar la Ley Marcial, como medida para acallar las protestas que siguen en auge. La medida incluye un toque de queda que ya aplica en las principales ciudades del país. El gobierno prohibió la circulación entre las 20:00 y las 4:00. Además, las reuniones no podrán superar las cinco personas.
No obstante, eso no constituye un impedimento para que decenas de miles de jóvenes salgan a protestar todos los días. Muchos de ellos tienen recuerdos muy vagos de las movilizaciones de hace más de una década. Estos sectores, con un promedio etario de veinte años, crecieron en el periodo de transición democrática y su desarrollo estuvo marcado por la apertura al mundo de Myanmar y el acceso al mundo de las redes sociales. Hoy, con las redes como su arma principal, es este grupo el que se rebela a diario contra la dictadura.
La influencia del internet y la cultura occidental se hace evidente en las movilizaciones juveniles. Estos manifestantes, frutos de una cultura globalizada, han tomado de la saga «Los Juegos del Hambre» su saludo identificatorio. Esta misma seña utilizó la juventud prodemocrática en Hong Kong y Tailandia, y su popularidad en Asia creció exponencialmente.
El escenario de las protestas es desparejo: mientras en Rangún, ciudad principal, predomina una calma tensa, en Naypyidaw el Ejército ya comenzó a reprimir con armamento. En esta última ciudad las protestas son menores en número, pero de consecuencias más feroces: en estos días la policía disparó en la cabeza a una mujer y creen que la herida es fatal.
El miedo a ser detenidos está presente siempre. Los jóvenes relatan que mientras marchan a movilizarse sienten rumores acerca del accionar militar. Podrían ser heridos, disparados, interrogados. Sin embargo siguen protestando, con el apoyo de padres que padecieron 50 años de ocupación militar y que temen volver a las penumbras de un Estado paria.
