El 2 de abril se conmemora el día mundial de concientización del autismo, por eso desde la redacción entrevistamos a Ada Ortega, presidenta de la Asociación de Autismo San Luís.

Redacción: ¿Cómo nace este proyecto de crear una Organización no gubernamental, para promover los derechos de los chicos con Autismo ?

Ada: Nuestra Asociación surgió por la necesidad de ser escuchados, con un grupo de mamás hicimos una página y desde allí difundimos información, pedimos por los derechos de nuestros hijos, y logramos la aprobación de la ley de Autismo en San Luis. Recuerdo que un día, a nuestra página, se conectó una mamá pidiendo ayuda, porque su hijo era maltratado por la dirección de la escuela, cuando llamé para intervenir, lejos de pedir disculpas, la directora de la escuela me preguntó: ¿y vos quién sos?…. eso fue el detonante, y con mucho esfuerzo generamos la Asociación.

Redacción: ¿Cuáles son las actividades que viene realizando? ¿Que tiene pensando para este mes del autismo?

Ada: Desde entonces hemos logrado varías ordenanzas en pos del bienestar de las familias dentro del espectro autista (ordenanza de Pirotecnia cero Sonora, ordenanza de pictogramas, ordenanza de capacitación del personal de tránsito, media sanción a la ley de Pirotecnia Cero Sonora), Declaración de Interés Municipal y de instituir el color Azul como símbolo del Autismo, y el Día 2 de abril como Día Municipal del Autismo.
Para éste mes hemos lanzado la campaña HABLEMOS DE AUTISMO, EMPIEZO YO, que consiste en un ejercicio de espejo en dónde la comunidad hablará de AUTISMO, será durante todo el mes de Abril desde el lugar que ocupa cada uno en la comunidad. Hemos dialogado con el presidente de la Cámara de Comercio para establecer el Comercio Amigable y que desde los comercios difundir información de Autismo y las señales de detección precoz, también la posibilidad de un convenio tripartito con la Universidad Nacional de San Luis y el Concejo Deliberante para que se realicen las prácticas pre profesionales de las carreras (Psicomotricidad, Kinesiología, Fonoaudiología, Educación Especial) en las familias dentro de la Asociación.

Redacción: ¿Que proyectos tienen a futuro?

Ada: El anhelo más grande es lograr la reglamentación de la ley provincial de autismo y su cumplimiento, ya que al día de la fecha no se cumple.

Redacción: ¡¿En el ámbito de la salud , los chicos reciben en San Luis, los tratamientos necesarios?.
Ada: Lamentablemente nuestros hijos no reciben el tratamiento adecuado, en todos los ámbitos hay carencia de capacitación idónea, desconocimiento, desinformación, no existe cobertura del estado, no hay neurólogo pediátrico público, cuesta mucho acceder a tratamientos y terapias, no hay espacios lúdicos o de esparcimiento para que nuestros hijos se desarrollen.

Redacción: ¿Qué significa para ustedes este día?
Ada: Éste día significa la posibilidad de volver a renovar las esperanzas de obtener la visibilización de nuestros hijos y el tratamiento adecuado para ellos y su desarrollo. Aspiramos a que exista una Sede en cada localidad de la provincia, para que todos tengan respuesta, queremos saber cuántos son los casos detectados en la provincia, saber cuántos somos. Generar espacios dónde nuestros hijos puedan ser independientes y poder tener una independencia laboral, económica y social.
