El ejecutivo provincial tomó nota de los aumentos de casos de inseguridad que se viven en la provincia, y Villa de Merlo no es una excepción. De hecho, hace poco más de un mes hubo una discusión acerca de si la inseguridad en esa localidad era por “los pastos crecidos” que permitían a los delincuentes esconderse.

Lo bueno, más allá de la chicana política entre la dirigencia, es que se logró avanzar en una propuesta que ataque uno de los problemas que más preocupa a los puntanos: la inseguridad. Por eso, se ha puesto en la calle a 60 nuevos efectivos en Villa de Merlo, los cuales integrarán la División Policía Ciudadana, y trabajarán recorriendo y previniendo el delito en las calles de esa ciudad.

Alberto Rodríguez Saá dijo: “Con los reglamentos, protocolos y leyes en la mano no se van a equivocar”, e instó a los nuevos policías, que son oriundos de la zona a que: “incorporen todos los días una estrofita de esa poesía, que los hará ser amigables con nuestros pueblos de la falda oriental del Comechingones”, en referencia a las composiciones de “Chocho” Arancibia y del Poeta Agüero.

Durante el acto, además del gobernador, estuvieron presentes, el jefe de la Policía provincial, comisario general Darío Neira; el subjefe, comisario general Claudio Latini; el comisario general Javier Dionisio Funes, director General de Operaciones y responsable de la División Policía Ciudadana; Juan Pablo Álvarez, jefe de la Unidad Regional 3; el secretario de Vivienda, Guillermo Alaniz; y el intendente de la localidad, Juan Álvarez Pinto.
