Artista todoterreno: entrevistamos a Iván Gazzo
Conversamos con el ganador del Concurso Internacional de Poesía y Narrativa «Enlace de Palabras». Iván Gazzo es escritor, cineasta, productor audiovisual y cantante.
Nacido en Junín, Iván llegó a nuestra provincia a sus 10 años. Pasó su infancia en bibliotecas y rodeado de arte. Ahora es cineasta y documentalista, egresado de la Universidad de La Punta, con 4 películas en su haber y producciones fuera del país.

Hace poco ganó un Concurso Internacional de Poesía y Narrativa. Sus poemas «Pulso» y «Latido» fueron galardonados por el Instituto Cultural Latinoamericano. Ambos poemas saldrán en su próximo libro, llamado «Cuerpoeta».
La Voz Puntana conversó con el joven artista, para conocerlo al detalle:
– ¿Cómo fue tu entrada a la escritura? ¿Hubo algún disparador?
-Siempre hay disparadores: desde el principio uno va encontrando cosas. Yo creo que la literatura ha sido un camino de toda la vida y es algo que muestra al poeta en distintos aspectos de la vida. Como decía Octavio Paz: «Una buena poesía está leyendo a la persona en ese momento: que se le ocurría, que veía, que probaba, que sentía».
Yo he escrito toda mi vida, a mis 10 años ya visitaba la biblioteca, asique ya había una intención. Obviamente tengo a mi familia, más que nada mi vieja que siempre ha estado inculcando obras, música, películas. En casa siempre hubo material de todo tipo y creo que eso me transformó en lo que soy hoy.
-Por lo que veo es un camino que has recorrido toda tu vida, desde muy chico.
-Si, hay un antes y un después que es cuando vi la película Cinema Paradiso. Ahí nace mi deseo de hacer cine y empezar a narrar: en ese momento dije «Bueno esto realmente me gusta y es lo que quisiera hacer». Así, decidí irme a estudiar a Villa María y después me vine a estudiar a San Luis.
-¿Qué lugar tiene para vos el arte en tu vida?
-Uno tiene obligaciones, cosas que hacer en su día. Hago deporte, veo a mi familia, tengo mi pareja y después tengo mi trabajo que es crear. Soy una persona que está todo el tiempo creando, entonces a veces tengo que buscar un equilibrio para no desbordarme. Para mí el arte es una materia pendiente de todos los días, digamos que es todo para mí.
-¿Cómo te enteraste del concurso?
-Siempre estoy atento a convocatorias, ya sean nacionales, latinoamericanas o de habla hispana. Al Instituto Cultural Latinoamericano hace rato que lo conozco: desde el 2000 trabajan haciendo intercambios con artistas y continuamente recibo invitaciones para participar.
El año pasado tuve un segundo premio en Poesía y Narrativa con obras distintas. Este año me anoté otra vez en Narrativa y Poesía, porque tenía cosas interesantes para mostrar. En Poesía fue donde tuve este primer premio: me gustaba mucho lo que había enviado y de alguna forma estaba muy confiado de que algo iba a ocurrir ahí.
Me enteré del resultado el sábado pasado a través de internet.
-Leí la nota que te hizo Cultura a raíz de este primer premio: ahí vos mencionas que la escritura es un trabajo de todos los días. ¿Qué cosas te inspiran para escribir?
-La inspiración la mayoría de las veces se agarra trabajando. Encuentro mi inspiración en la misma energía de trabajar. Pero cuando me agarra sin trabajar siempre tengo algo a mano para anotar, ya sea un celular o alguna agenda.
Escribo de todo lo que veo y siento. A veces pasan cosas interesantes: personas que uno conoce, caminos que uno recorre, cosas que uno encuentra. A veces me comprometo a mostrar lo que no se ve en otros aspectos, es un lugar donde puedo sentirme cómodo.
-De alguna forma vos intentas nutrirte de tu misma rutina, la usas para crear.
-Tal cual.
-Contame: ¿En qué proyectos estás trabajando ahora?
-En lo audiovisual, actualmente estoy haciendo documentales independientes llamados «Historias de Vida»: ya hice seis y pueden encontrarlos en Youtube. El año pasado hice algunos audiovisuales gratis, para ayudar a comercios de Merlo que necesitaban digitalizarse en la pandemia. Quería darle algo a la gente y sentirme útil.
También estoy realizando documentales con el Centro Cultural de San Francisco, llamados «nuestra gente». En la música, estamos trabajando en la grabación de nuestro segundo disco con Vía Web.
Además, una vez que publique este nuevo libro llamado «Cuerpoeta», que viene con las dos obras premiadas, me avocaré a la creación de un nuevo libro. Intento ir paso a paso, siempre trabajando y cultivando para cosechar los frutos de eso que voy experimentando. Estos premios son fruto del laburo.
-Esto que decís del paso a paso me da lugar para mi última pregunta: ¿Tenes alguna meta a futuro?
-Siempre. A mi me gustaría hacer cine de exportación acá en la provincia, de manera profesional. Las ganas están y seguramente en algún momento sea un poco más sencillo. Yo me dedique al documental porque es más económico de producir, pero no hay un apoyo real hacia los cineastas. Pero si desearía poder producir un cine interesante, de calidad de exportación. San Luis fue un lugar donde se podía hacer buen cine, y espero que se recupere eso.
