Una diputada provincial repudió los dichos del Presidente sobre las personas con discapacidades
Se trata de Mónica Domínguez, quien actualmente es Diputada por la provincia de San Luis.
A raíz de los inoportunos dichos de Alberto Fernández sobre las personas con discapacidad, fueron varias las agrupaciones que criticaron la expresión del Presidente.
Días atrás el Jefe de Gobierno se expresó de la siguiente manera sobre las personas con discapacidad: «Hablé con maestros de escuelas de chicos con capacidades diferentes. ¡Lo difícil que se les hace trabajar con esos chicos que no entienden la dimensión del problema sanitario que enfrentan!”.
La frase suscitó críticas de la Asociación Síndrome de Down, entre otras instituciones. En consecuencia, el Presidente asistió a un taller de «Terminología» y «Herramientas sobre la perspectiva de la discapacidad».
Una Diputada Provincial, llamada Mónica Domínguez, publicó un escrito en sus redes sociales para que se tome conciencia de la realidad que las personas con discapacidad atraviesan en nuestros días. Mónica integra la Comisión de Salud y Derechos Humanos y el Consejo Municipal de Discapacidad de Villa de Merlo. Además, fue integrante del Consejo Provincial de Discapacidad de San Luis.

De mi mayor consideración.
Por medio de la presente quiero expresarle mi absoluto repudio por sus dichos ( fuente: diferentes medios) al referirse a las personas con discapacidad (término correcto a diferencia del que Usted utilizó para referirse a nosotros: personas con capacidades diferentes) y en el contexto de su discurso al momento de mencionar las razones de las últimas medidas, para contrarrestar el avance del virus Covid-19 y que tanto daño está causando a nuestra sociedad toda.
Me permito explicarle algunas cuestiones que seguramente desconoce. Las personas con discapacidad formamos parte de un mundo muy amplio de variantes con respecto a nuestra condición. Muchos de nosotros tenemos discapacidades físicas así como otros tienen discapacidades intelectuales o sensoriales y hasta viscerales.
Pero de algo estoy segura, todos de una u otra forma «entendemos» que la situación de pandemia que estamos atravesando, hizo que tengamos que cambiar muchas actividades habituales en nuestras vidas.
Las docentes, ya sea de educación especial o tradicional, hacen un trabajo realmente muy dedicado y cuentan con la capacitación necesaria para que sus alumnos aprendan de la mejor forma posible, por lo que no coincido con Usted cuando dice que las personas con discapacidad no entendemos.
Sí entendemos. Entendemos que no fuimos considerados personas de riesgo al momento de crear las páginas y aplicaciones habilitadas para tal fin por no existir la categoría de «persona con discapacidad» por lo que tuvimos que hacer diferentes reclamos en nuestras respectivas provincias para que así se nos considere, ya que muchos tenemos comorbilidades y un sistema inmune deficitario, aunque a simple vista se nos vea saludables o nuestra discapacidad no sea visible.
También entendemos que las personas que nos asisten, ya sean familiares o acompañantes junto con profesionales de determinadas terapias que no siempre se realizan dentro de un hospital o clínica, tampoco fueron consideradas esenciales, cuando en realidad sí lo son porque nuestras terapias y sesiones de rehabilitación no pueden esperar.
Además, a lo mejor desconoce que no todas las personas con discapacidad que asisten a escuelas son niños o chicos, como Usted los llama. Hay niños y niñas, sí, pero también adolescentes y adultos con las mismas necesidades e inquietudes que el resto de la población.
Para terminar ya que sé que su tiempo es acotado y su agenda muy ocupada, me gustaría también explicarle que las personas con discapacidad no somos los principales vectores del virus porque si algo nos caracteriza a todos, es nuestra increíble capacidad de resiliencia y superación, por la cual mucha gente nos expresa su admiración, pero que es la que nos permite adaptarnos a todo ya que la sociedad difícilmente se adapta a nosotros.
Estoy segura que en su declaración no tuvo la intención de ofender a nadie pero como Usted sabrá, en la comunicación no importa su intención si no el efecto que provoca y créame que muchos nos sentimos muy afectados por sus lamentables dichos.
