San Luis: murió el 68% de la gente que ingresó a terapia intensiva por Coronavirus

Casi 7 de cada 10 puntanos internados en Unidades de Terapia Intensiva murieron de Covid-19.

Desde el comienzo de la pandemia en la provincia, 294 puntanos murieron en terapia intensiva.

El impacto de la segunda ola recrudeció la mortalidad del Covid-19: en San Luis casi 7 de 10 pacientes que ingresaron a terapia intensiva murieron hospitalizados. Las cifras se tomaron del repositorio de datos que el Ministerio de Salud de la Nación puso a disposición del público, y fueron presentadas por El Chorrillero.

Desde el comienzo de la pandemia en San Luis se internaron 431 personas. 294 de esos puntanos, el 68,2%, perdieron la vida. Solamente 137, un 31.79%, logró sobrevivir. De ese total de fallecidos, el 55.2% precisaron asistencia respiratoria mecánica.

Según el informe realizado por Julián Pampillón, periodista del El Chorrillero, el grupo con más fallecidos fue el que comprende de los 60 a los 69 años: un tercio de esas muertes fueron de este grupo. Lo siguen las personas entre 70 a 79 años, que conforman un cuarto de los muertos en Terapia Intensiva. El último grupo significativo fue el de adultos entre 50 y 59 años, que forman el 23,8% de los fallecidos.

El porcentaje de fallecidos en UTI en la provincia supera al promedio nacional: a nivel país murieron el 65% de los casos que requirieron internación.

Asimismo, la ocupación de camas creció un 450% en San Luis, reflejando como aumento el porcentaje de pacientes graves en relación con las primeras cepas. Según Pampillón, el 29 de marzo había 14 personas en Unidades de Terapia Intensiva, mientras que el día de ayer había 72 camas ocupadas. El pico de ocupación fue el 26 de mayo, donde se registraron 82 camas llenas -el 100% de las UTI de San Luis-.

Así las cosas, San Luis ya superó los 60.000 casos detectados y la cantidad de fallecidos ascendió a 777. Mayo es por escándalo el peor mes a nivel de fallecidos, con casi 270 decesos. Queda por ver como seguirá la situación epidemiológica en nuestra provincia, aunque las cifras son una alarma para tomar recaudos.
