El boxeador mercedino dominó la pelea de principio a fin y liquidó a su rival en 8 rounds.

La noche del jueves Leonardo «Junior» Amitrano consiguió su decimoséptima victoria como boxeador profesional, tras derrotar a Elías «Martillo» Haedo. Fue la pelea central de la noche, celebrada en el Centro de Actividades «Roberto De Vicenzo», de Berazategui.

El combate fue intenso, pero el mercedino fue contundente: en 8 rounds lo liquidó por K.O Técnico. Amitrano, pupilo de Carlos San Miguel, sacó a relucir el talento y la experiencia que lo coronaron campeón superligero dos veces. Fue preciso para conectar los golpes, a corta y larga distancia: boxeo cerebral.

Ambos peleadores llegaron con realidades muy distintas. Haedo, campeón nacional y número 1 del peso welter, venía con once triunfos y ocho por K.O. En cambio, la última pelea de Amitrano fue a comienzos de 2020, donde perdió su corona sudamericana. Sin embargo, el púgil puntano neutralizó los embates de «Martillo» y logró dejarlo sin reacción.

El tercer round fue decisivo: Amitrano mandó a la lona por primera vez a su oponente. Entró con mano izquierda y combinó con un cross de derecha arriba. Luego un derechazo cruzado a la mejilla de Haedo mandó al bonaerense a la lona. Fue el primer conteo de la pelea.

El sanluiseño manifestó que estuvo cerca de liquidar la pelea en el tercer asalto: «En el tercero cuando cayó fui a comérmelo, pero no pude. Después en el rincón me dijeron lo que tenía que hacer, seguir como venía trabajando porque el nocaut iba a llegar solo y así fue».

Con Haedo golpeado y errático, Amitrano peleó más suelto. Jugó al contrataque, con ráfagas de izquierda y derecha.

Ya en el octavo round, «Junior» hizo valer la superioridad y conectó una derecha al mentón de Haedo. Lona, conteo y victoria para un Amitrano que ganó una pelea bien planificada. Tras la coronación, Amitrano comentó: «La pelea salió bien, como lo habíamos planificado; trabajando de lejos y buscando el error del rival».

Así, Leonardo «Junior» Amitrano volvió a los laureles y se entusiasma con volver a pelear títulos sudamericanos en superligeros.
