Desde Estados Unidos: llegaron más de un millón de dosis de AstraZeneca al país
Transportado por un Boeing 767, el cargamento llegó cerca de las 10:00 a Ezeiza.
Esta mañana arribó a nuestro país un nuevo envío de vacunas contra el Coronavirus. En esta ocasión se trató de un cargamento de AstraZeneca, proveniente de Estados Unidos.
La vacuna fue desarrollada mediante una colaboración entre el laboratorio AstraZeneca y la Universidad de Oxford. En total fueron 1.139.000 las dosis enviadas a Argentina esta mañana.
El vuelo, que partió de origen a las 0:32 de Miami, fue recibido por Santiago Cafiero y Carla Vizzotti, respectivos jefe de Gabinete y ministra de Salud. En diálogo con los medios Cafiero manifestó: “Estamos recibiendo 1.139.000 dosis de vacunas AstraZeneca, para seguir sumando a esta campaña de vacunación, que es la más grande de nuestra historia, que se está desarrollando con total velocidad en todo el territorio para terminar con esta pesadilla de la pandemia”.
Además, el jefe de Gabinete anunció que en el día de hoy también llegaría un vuelo proveniente de China con un cargamento de vacunas Sinopharm. Así, la semana contará con nuevos envíos internacionales: llegarán vacunas los días miércoles y viernes.
Tras ser consultada Vizzotti remarcó la importancia de sostener los cuidados personales y comunitarios. Respecto del grado de protección de las vacunas, explicó: «Con la primera dosis logramos el 80 por ciento de inmunización y con la segunda completamos”.
Con el envío de esta mañana Argentina ya recibió 21.816.145 dosis, sin discriminar marcas ni componentes. Según el Monitor Público de Vacunación, 18.198.899 vacunas ya fueron aplicadas en nuestro país.
