Industria nacional: el lunes comienza a producirse la Sputnik V en el país
El laboratorio Richmond anunció que la primer tanda será de 150.000 unidades. La fábrica de Pilar -Buenos Aires- es la primera del país en generar vacunas contra el Coronavirus.
La vacuna rusa Sputnik V, del Centro de Investigación Gamaleya, comienza a producirse este lunes en suelo argentino: así lo confirmó Marcelo Figueiras, presidente de Laboratorios Richmond. El primer lote será de 150.000 dosis, correspondientes al componente 2. Este lote es esencial para completar esquemas de vacunación con la vacuna rusa, que registraba faltantes en las últimas semanas.
Las vacunas serán producidas en la planta que Richmond tiene en Pilar. Figueiras, cabeza del laboratorio, anunció: «Esta semana estamos fabricando el segundo lote del primer componente y el lunes próximo arrancaremos con los 100 litros del segundo componente, que alcanzará para unas 150 mil dosis».
Según informó el empresario, están a la espera de unos 560 litros de principio activo para continuar la producción. El problema es que ese componente no es producido en el país, y deben esperar un envío desde Moscú.
En los meses previos, cuando se anunció la fabricación nacional de Sputnik V, enviaron a Rusia un lote de 450 mil dosis del componente 1 producido en Pilar. Ya pasó los controles internos de calidad y esperan los resultados del Centro Gamaleya.
Nuevos envíos
Ayer por la noche llegó un nuevo lote de Sputnik V: fueron 709.085 unidades. 359.085 corresponden al primer componente y las 350.000 restantes son segundas dosis.
Además, la madrugada registró el vigesimoctavo vuelo de Aerolíneas Argentinas para buscar vacunas. Salió con destino a Moscú por la madrugada, y llegaría mañana a las 16:00.
Eficacia contra nuevas variantes
Fue Denis Logunov, subdirector del Centro Gamaleya y desarrollador de la vacuna rusa, quien confirmó que Sputnik V es altamente eficaz contra la nueva variante Delta. Con una efectividad del 90%, es la vacuna que menor disminución de eficacia tuvo ante la cepa.
