Desde la redacción entrevistamos al Dr. Ramiro Seijas, un destacado médico clínico de la ciudad de San Luis, con quien conversamos y le preguntamos sobre algunas de las dudas más comunes que tiene la comunidad en relación a la Vacunación por COVID-19.

–¿Cuáles son las vacunas contra la COVID-19 que se están implementando en la Argentina?

Actualmente, desde la última modificación realizada en el Congreso de la Nación, todas las vacunas disponibles en el mundo pueden ser aplicadas en Argentina. Desde las que se colocaron en un principio como Sputnik-V, la china de Sinovac , o AstraZeneca. Incluso las vacunas aprobadas para usar en menores como Moderna, y se esperan dosis de la vacuna de Pfizer. La vacuna de Johnson de una sola dosis es la única que no se encuentra disponible en Argentina por el momento.

De estas vacunas que se han implementado en la Argentina, se debe tener en cuenta algún efecto secundario que sea relevante para la población: todavía un porcentaje de la comunidad no se vacuna por miedo a estos posibles efectos.

Los efectos adversos a tener en cuenta dependen de la vacuna, las trombosis se asocian a vacunas de Astrazeneca. En la de Johnson son muy poco frecuentes. Por su parte, la pericarditis y la miocarditis se asociaron en la vacunación de adolescentes con la vacuna de Moderna y Pfizer. Es importante consultar al medico en los casos previos a la vacunación, si usted tiene antecedentes de trombosis.

–¿Qué opina Dr. Seijas de la combinación de vacunas ?

La combinación de diferentes vacunas en nuestro país fue una necesidad ante la no llegada de la segunda dosis de Sputnik, que utiliza un componente diferente al de la segunda dosis, los estudios sobre seguridad y eficacia se están realizando: las expectativas son muy buenas e inclusive en el resto del mundo están esperando estos resultados. No solamente en Argentina hay personas con primera dosis de una vacuna, sino que en Europa también muchas personas viajaron a Rusia para colocarse el primer componente y no tienen el segundo componente colocado. Las combinaciones que se están usando hasta el momento son Sputnik más Moderna o Sputnik más Astra Zeneca.

–¿Qué opinión tiene de las campañas de vacunación que se realizan en el sector privado, en países como Estados Unidos?

En Argentina el problema, fue la no disponibilidad de vacunas así que por el momento creo que debería continuar vacunando desde el estado. Si eventualmente en otro momento hay una mayor disponibilidad de vacunas y hubiera un stock de dosis no colocadas se puede rever y en tal caso pueden participar también vacunatorios privados.

–Por ultimo, ¿ Como ve la evolución del proceso de inmunidad en nuestro país y como afecta la variante Delta?

Esta última pregunta está asociada a la anterior: todavía no hemos alcanzado vacunación masiva completa o sea dos dosis. La llegada en estos momentos de una cepa con alta contagiosidad sería un problema mayor. Las experiencias en Gran Bretaña, Israel y Estados Unidos con la cepa Delta nos hacen pensar que estaríamos ante una tercer ola si llega con un porcentaje elevado de la población con una vacunación incompleta.
