Villa Mercedes marchó para pedir justicia por Xiomara Rosales, a un mes de su muerte

Es la segunda manifestación para pedir justicia por la niña. La primera fue el 9 de septiembre, cuando rechazaron el fallo de la jueza Mirta Ucelay.

La muerte de Xiomara Rosales, una pequeña de 2 años que murió a manos de un conductor alcoholizado, causó conmoción en los vecinos de Villa Mercedes. Sin embargo, lo que siguió fue la indignación cuando se conoció el fallo que la jueza Mirta Ucelay determinó para Alberto Chávez, el responsable del deceso de la pequeña.

Chávez fue procesado por «Homicidio culposo agravado por manejar en estado de ebriedad y darse a la fuga», pero quedó en libertad. Su condena se limitó a vivir cerca del juzgado, realizarse estudios médicos para comprobar si tiene adicción al alcohol y no manejar automóviles mientras esté abierta la causa.

Ayer por la tarde, a un mes del trágico episodio, los vecinos volvieron a congregarse para recordar a Xiomara y ratificar el rechazo al fallo judicial. «Un vacío que nadie llenará» rezaban las banderas y carteles que amigos, vecinos y miembros de la familia Rosales exhibieron en pleno centro mercedino.

La manifestación unió las plazas Pedernera y San Martín. Los rosarios, las cintas negras y el dibujo de un ángel simbolizan lo que fue una partida injusta e inesperada.
