El Hospital San Luis colocó con éxito implantes auditivos a dos jóvenes de la provincia. Los beneficiarios fueron Debran Núñez, oriundo de la ciudad de San Luis y de solo 5 años, y Mauro Figueroa, que tiene 12 años y es de Villa Mercedes. Ambos son pacientes del Servicio de Otorrinolaringología y de Fonoaudiología y tramitaron sus implantes por el Servicio Social.

El Ministerio de Salud adquirió los equipos por $3.939.670 y el procedimiento estuvo a cargo del cirujano Sebastián Picciafuoco. A Mauro, quien padece una malformación en el pabellón auricular, le colocaron un implante osteointegrado: es un audífono por vibración ósea, que estimula el caracol o cóclea permitiendo la audición. En cambio, Debran sufre de hipoacusia y le colocaron un implante de tipo coclear en el oído derecho.

“Estamos muy conformes y felices por cómo se dieron las cirugías, no tuvimos ninguna complicación y los menores ya están en sus domicilios”, contó Picciafuoco. El cirujano destacó el trabajo de todo el equipo del hospital y el aporte que realizó el Ministerio de Salud para conseguir los equipos.
