El Directorio del Banco Central (BCRA) dispuso que los consumos de más de 200 dólares que se financien con tarjetas paguen la tasa de interés que corresponde a la regulada por la ley para las tarjetas de crédito emitidas por entidades financieras.

De esta forma, siempre que se deje sin pagar al vencimiento del resumen compras con tarjeta de crédito por más de US$ 200 -equivalentes a unos $ 48.000, aproximadamente- deberán pagar una tasa de interés cercana al 83,23%, una tasa que depende en general de cada banco.

Esto es así porque la ley de Tarjetas de Crédito establece que los bancos pueden cobrar hasta un 25% más que la tasa que perciben por los créditos personales.

Según datos del Banco Central, el promedio de todo el sistema financiero para créditos personales es de 66,58%, por lo que un 25% por arriba de ese nivel equivale a 83,23% aunque, siendo un promedio de todos los bancos, habrá entidades que cobren más y otras menos.

De todas formas, informó el BCRA, los bancos “deberán notificar a los tarjetahabientes antes de aplicar esta medida”

“Para el resto de los consumos en pesos, el financiamiento de resúmenes hasta 200.000 pesos mensuales mantendrán la tasa máxima fijada por el BCRA de 62%”, aseguró el Banco Central.
