El 91,4% de la población tiene al menos una dosis, pero solo el 23% se puso la cuarta.

De acuerdo a las cifras reveladas esta semana por el Gobierno provincial, el 91,42% de los habitantes de la provincia (508.328 según cifras oficiales precenso) tiene al menos una dosis de la vacuna contra el Covid. El número desciende a 88,28% en lo que se refiere al esquema primario (dos dosis) y al 63,42% para el primer refuerzo (3ra dosis), lo que significa un descenso del 25%. Esta caída se hace aún más pronunciada en lo que se refiere al segundo refuerzo (o 4ta dosis), ya que el porcentaje de población vacunada desciende al 23,05% del total.

Estos números crecen ligeramente cuando hablamos de la “población vacunable”, mayor de 3 años de edad. En estos casos, estamos hablando de que un 96,10% tiene al menos una dosis, un 92,80% completó el esquema de vacunación, mientras que el 66,67% se puso la tercera dosis y solo el 24,23% la cuarta.

De igual manera, cabe recordar que recientemente se aprobó la vacunación a partir de los 6 meses de edad, lo que amplía la “población vacunable” a un número muy similar al de la población total.

San Luis y el mundo

Con un 88,28% de la población con el esquema primario completo, San Luis no solo supera el promedio nacional (84%), sino también el de países como Estados Unidos (67%), Brasil (81%), Canadá (84%), España (86%), Francia (79%), Australia (86%) y Japón (81%). De hecho, son muy pocos los países que tienen un mayor porcentaje de la población vacunada, como por ejemplo China (91%) y Chile (93%), según un informe realizado por el New York Times, en base a información publicada en Our World in Data de la universidad de Oxford.
