Un médico especialista en enfermedades pulmonares hizo declaraciones respecto a que el pico de gripe que habitualmente era en meses invernales sigue a en el primer mes de la primavera. Es un fenómeno a nivel nacional del que San Luis no es ajeno.

“Estamos teniendo un pico de casos respecto de otros años determinado epidemiológicamente, de que son virus influenza A y B sólo que se han extendido. Esto es más de los meses invierno. Estamos en octubre y el pico continúa. Hay muchos casos respiratorios y epidemiológicamente a nivel nacional son virus influenza A, B y parainfluenza”, comentó el médico MP P3302, Adolfo Salvatierra.

Según el profesional hasta el momento se desconoce el motivo por el cual se extendió el pico de gripe, pero aseveró que tras la pandemia de Covid-19 “todo cambió”.

Salvatierra recomendó estar atentos a síntomas de fiebre, decaimiento y malestar general para acudir al médico. Como medidas de prevención recomendó el habitual lavado de manos/uso de alcohol en gel) y el uso de tapaboca en lugares con mucha concentración de personas.

Un informe del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación reveló que en las 37 semanas del año 2022 se notificaron 845.523 casos de influenza. “Si bien los años 2020 y 2021 fueron afectados por la pandemia para la notificación agrupada numérica, se observa un aumento también respecto de los dos años previos (2018 y 2019) para el mismo período en el presente año”, dice el informe.

El mismo fenómeno se da en los casos de neumonía. “En las 37 semanas del año 2022 se notificaron en el componente de Vigilancia Clínica 136.043 casos de Neumonía. Con respecto al número de notificaciones de neumonías en las primeras 37 semanas de los últimos nueve años se observa que los años con mayor número de notificaciones fueron 2015 y 2016. En la presente temporada se verifica también un aumento en el número de casos, superando el registrado en los últimos 4 años para el mismo período”, afirma el informe de la cartera sanitaria nacional.

Por otra parte, en las últimas semanas se registró un aumento de casos de gastroenteritis especialmente en niños. La Gaceta preguntó al respecto y Salvatierra respondió que es lo que se espera “para esta época del año. En diciembre, enero, vamos a ver los clásicos casos de diarrea estival”.
