El rector de la UNSL, Víctor Moriñigo, anunció que la entrega del Doctorado Honoris Causa al ex presidente uruguayo José “Pepe” Mujica no se realizará en el auditorio Mauricio López, sino en el anfiteatro del complejo Ave Fénix, en Juana Koslay. Por ese motivo, el intendente de la Localidad, Jorge “Toti” Videla, estuvo presente en la conferencia.

“Tuvimos una inscripción récord, que nos generó inconvenientes por la capacidad de nuestro auditorio Mauricio López. Hemos decidido trasladar el evento desde el Mauricio López al anfiteatro del Ave Fénix el día viernes próximo. Quizás perdamos solemnidad, pero estamos convencidos de que vamos a ganar masividad, entiendo que es un evento que, para la universidad, nos hemos dado cuenta que excede el ámbito académico. Es un evento que, por la personalidad que es Mujica, realmente derriba todas aquellas barreras que hemos tenido los universitarios durante muchos años y tenemos la obligación de compartir semejante figura en un lugar que nos da otras comodidades”, comentó Moriñigo, en conferencia de prensa. “No me sentía con la capacidad de poder elegir quién tenía el derecho de verlo a metros y a quien teníamos que dejar afuera y verlo por una pantalla”, añadió el rector de la UNSL.

De acuerdo a Moriñigo, ya hay 3.500 personas inscriptas para asistir al acto y se espera que el número final sea entre 5.000 y 6.000 personas. El evento comenzará a las 15 horas y, hasta que arranque el acto académico a las 17.30, se realizarán expresiones artísticas a cargo de los elencos estables de la UNSL y actuará el grupo Algarroba.com “mostrándole a Pepe el cancionero puntano”.

“Mujica no sabía dónde estaba ubicado San Luis ni quiénes somos. Después de contarle sobre la figura de nuestro ex rector Mauricio López y su pasado de preso político lo empezó a sensibilizar eso, la lucha de la universidad por los derechos humanos y el paso histórico de San Martín por San Luis también lo atrajo mucho”, contó el rector al ser consultado por cómo se gestó esta visita, agregando que solo mantuvo contacto con Mujica en marzo de este año.

Por su parte, el intendente “Toti” Videla comentó que este evento ha generado “una gran expectativa” en la localidad de Juana Koslay. “Tenemos que estar a la altura de la circunstancia, tanto en la organización y vamos a acompañar a la Universidad que hace esta entrega del Honoris Causa”, dice el jefe comunal.
