Andrés Russo, secretario de Gobierno, y Diego Hernández, su par de Servicios Públicos, mantuvieron un encuentro con los presidentes de bloque del Concejo Deliberante, donde presentaron el proyecto de ordenanza que declara la emergencia hídrica y la utilidad pública del agua en la ciudad.

El texto fue ingresado formalmente al cuerpo legislativo y se prevé su tratamiento sobre tablas en la sesión ordinaria de este jueves. En caso de aprobarse, la capital puntana se sumaría a otras ciudades del país que han tomado medidas similares para sobrellevar la sequía que afecta a distintas regiones.

“Agradezco a los presidentes de bloque, independientemente del color y la bandera política, que se vieron abiertos al diálogo y a recibir el proyecto. Hay que entender que estamos en una situación crítica en la ciudad con el faltante de agua. Queremos que la sociedad entienda que no hay que derrochar, que hay que cuidar el agua, tan esencial para la higiene, la salud pública y el consumo humano”, dijo Russo.

Por su parte, Hernández explicó que, desde hace varios meses, el Municipio viene realizando controles y campañas informativas  para instalar en la ciudadanía el hábito del cuidado del agua. Además, en las plantas potabilizadoras se realizan maniobras para distribuir mejor el caudal que ingresa desde los diques, a fin de garantizar la provisión en todos los barrios.

“La ciudad de San Luis se abastece de tres plantas y el problema que tenemos ahora es la falta de lluvia. Los acueductos empiezan a bajar la presión y las entradas a las plantas están bajando en gran número. Al día del hoy tenemos más de 300 litros de faltante”, detalló.

Si bien el intendente tiene dentro de sus potestades declarar la emergencia hídrica, Russo explicó que el proyecto de ordenanza “busca el consenso político y aunar esfuerzos para paliar la situación en la ciudad, considerando que se aproxima el periodo de mayor consumo debido a las altas temperaturas”.

Entre otros detalles, el proyecto declara la emergencia hasta el 30 de abril de 2023. En cuanto a las multas, no se prevé un aumento de su valor, pero sí la aplicación de procedimientos administrativos más rápidos en caso que se detecten usos no vinculados al consumo humano, la higiene y la salud pública.

En cuanto a los cortes programados, Hernández se mostró optimista, pero no descartó su aplicación. “Es una cuestión técnica. Si necesitamos hacer un corte para llenar nuestros depósitos y poner en régimen la red, lo vamos a hacer”.
