Fue en La Punta y estuvo presente el ex jugador de la selección, el Conejo Tarantini. Está ubicada en la rotonda de la intersección de Avenida Serrana y Boulevard Las Cañadas, frente al estadio Juan Gilberto Funes. La obra, realizada íntegramente con recursos propios municipales, jerarquiza el ingreso a la ciudad y rinde homenaje a los campeones de 1978 y 1986.

El acto fue encabezado por el Intendente Martín Olivero y contó con la visita de Alberto «El Conejo» Tarantini, campeón de Argentina ’78.

Estuvieron presentes legisladores provinciales, municipales, Héroes de Malvinas, el Ballet de Adultos, la Banda de Música del Ejército Argentino y vecinos.

En contacto con la prensa, el jefe comunal explicó que la obra fue realizada con recursos propios del municipio y costó cerca de cuatro millones y medio de pesos. Se utilizaron bloques de la bloquera municipal y las luminarias se diseñaron también en el taller metalúrgico del municipio: «Eso abarató muchísimos los costos», destacó el funcionario.

También contó cuáles son las obras que están concluyendo y se inaugurarán próximamente y recordó aquellas que se realizaron para mejorar la ciudad: «Esta es la manera de trabajar, de progresar; cuidar los recursos, ser austeros y el dinero que pagan los frentistas por tasas municipales, prestar un buen servicio y si se junta dinero hacer obras que le sirvan a todos.»

Sobre la o el candidato a sucederlo en el cargo que concluye el año que viene, Olivero fue cauto: «No es momento de hablar de candidaturas».
