Tras la consagración de la selección argentina en el Mundial de Qatar, los cuatro integrantes del equipo son candidatos al galardón de la FIFA. Además, la hinchada argentina está entre los candidatos a la mejor afición por su gran participación en la Copa del Mundo

Lionel Messi, ganador del Balón de Oro como el más destacado de la última Copa del Mundo, junto a Julián Álvarez, están entre los 14 elegidos para ser el mejor jugador. Por su parte, Dibu Martínez está en la lista para ganar el galardón al mejor arquero y Lionel Scaloni es uno de los entrenadores en la nómina para llevarse el trofeo al mejor DT del año.

La máxima entidad que rige los destinos del fútbol en el mundo confirmó que el 12 de enero se abrió el periodo de votación para que el público elija a los ganadores. Habrá tiempo para seleccionar a los candidatos hasta el próximo 3 de febrero. La ceremonia de entrega de los premios será el 27 del segundo mes del año.

“En esta ocasión se ha tomado en cuenta un periodo de tiempo algo más prolongado que no solo abarca la temporada 2021/2022, sino también la Copa Mundial. Así, se reconocen los logros alcanzados entre el 8 de agosto de 2021 y el 18 de diciembre de 2022″, indicó la FIFA en su reporte.

Además de las nominaciones para estos premios a nivel individual, el organismo también eligió a la hincha argentina en Medio Oriente como una de las más importantes durante el torneo. Por eso fue seleccionada para participar por el premio a la “mejor afición”.

El gran rendimiento de Messi, tanto en el inicio de su segunda temporada en el PSG, como a lo largo de toda la Copa del Mundo, donde convirtió siete goles, incluídos dos en la final ante el conjunto francés, lo impone como el gran candidato a quedarse con el galardón. El otro jugador de la Celeste y Blanca es el sorprendente Julián Álvarez, que después de su gran paso por River Plate, fue transferido al Manchester City y se ganó la titularidad en el equipo de Scaloni gracias a su rendimiento durante el certamen. Anotó cuatro tantos en su estreno mundialista.

Robert Lewandowski, último ganador del trofeo The Best como mejor jugador, está en la lista de los 14 elegidos. Los otros que son parte de la nómina son: Bellingham (Inglaterra, Borussia Dortmund), Benzema (Real Madrid, Francia), De Bruyne (Manchester City, Bélgica), Haaland (Borussia Dortmund y City), Achraf (Marruecos), Mané (Liverpool, Senegal), Mbappé (PSG, Francia), Modric (Real Madrid, Croacia), Neymar (PSG, Brasil), Salah (Liverpool, Egipto) y Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid, Brasil).

Por su parte, otro que tuvo un rendimiento superlativo, sobre todo en la tanda de penales y en dos atajadas clave, una en los últimos minutos en el partido de octavos de final ante los australianos, y la que le tapó a Kolo Muani en los instantes finales del tiempo reglamentario de la final, fue Dibu Martínez. Por eso también es candidato a quedarse con el premio al arquero más destacado de la última temporada para la FIFA.

Sus rivales en la nómina serán Alisson Becker (Brasil, Liverpool), Yassine Bounou (Marruecos, Sevilla), Thibaut Courtois (Bélgica, Real Madrid) y Ederson (Brasil, Manchester City).

Por último, entre el plantel argentino el otro seleccionado como candidato a los premios The Best es Lionel Scaloni. El entrenador, que primero llegó como interino tras la salida de Jorge Sampaoli tras la debacle en el Mundial de Rusia 2018 supo manejar la situación y construyó un grupo que se fortaleció con el paso del tiempo. Tras la consagración en la Copa América de 2021 en el mítico Maracaná contra Brasil, sumado al triunfo ante Italia en la Finalissima y el récord de 36 partidos invicto, el punto cúlmine del oriundo de Pujato fue llevar al equipo a ser campeón del mundo por tercera vez en la historia del fútbol argentino.

Los otros postulantes como mejor DT son Carlo Ancelotti (Real Madrid), Didier Deschamps (selección de Francia), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) y Walid Regragui (selección de Marruecos).
