Buenos Aires registró un descenso histórico de la tasa de mortalidad infantil
El jefe de Gobierno porteño, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, presentó las cifras que marcan un descenso histórico en la mortalidad infantil de la Ciudad. “ Este desafío no entiende de banderas políticas, de chicanas ni de grietas, nos tiene que involucrar a todos” aseguró.
La tasa de mortalidad infantil de CABA se ubicó en 4,4 fallecidos por cada mil nacidos vivos, muy por debajo de 7,9 cada mil nacidos vivos que se registraba en 2007. En cuanto a cifras absolutas, en 2021 se registraron 113 defunciones, la mitad que en 2019, cuando se había comenzado a registrar una baja significativa. Se ubica además “en casi la mitad de lo que es el promedio de toda la Argentina”, describió Rodríguez Larreta.
El mandatario sostuvo que la lucha contra la mortalidad infantil “es una prioridad que obliga hacer todo lo que esté al alcance para que cada vez sean menos los bebés que fallecen en sus primeros meses de vida, dejando familias destruidas y miles de proyectos de vida truncos”.
Ante ese desafío, desde 2007 el Gobierno de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires decidió abordarlo de forma integral. A lo largo de las últimas cuatro gestiones en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires se ha trabajado incansablemente y de forma coordinada entre las diferentes áreas competentes para lograr un descenso significativo de la mortalidad infantil.
El Jefe de Gobierno aseguró que ese esfuerzo dio resultados: “Hoy la Ciudad tiene la tasa de mortalidad infantil más baja de la historia. Esto es gracias al trabajo de todo un equipo comprometido con el acompañamiento de las madres durante el embarazo y los cuidados post-natales”.
“Aunque sea un gran avance, es un número que no nos conforma. Mientras haya un bebé que fallezca por una causa evitable, vamos a seguir trabajando”, aclaró Rodríguez Larreta desde el Centro de Desarrollo Infantil «Rayito de Sol» en el barrio porteño de Villa Soldati.
Además de Vidal, Stanley y Quirós, el Jefe de Gobierno destacó el trabajo de la ministra de Desarrollo Humano y Hábitat; María Migliore; la legisladora y ex ministra de Salud de la Ciudad; Ana Bou Pérez; y el ex ministro de Salud porteño Jorge Lemus. También valoró el trabajo de la ex ministra de Salud Graciela Reybaud y de la ex ministra de Desarrollo Humano y Hábitat Guadalupe Tagliaferri, quienes no pudieron estar presentes en el acto, y del ex Jefe de Gobierno Mauricio Macri, quien inició el proceso de cambio.
El Jefe de Gobierno repasó las distintas políticas públicas que permitieron el descenso de la mortalidad infantil, como los 190 equipos médicos destinados a los controles de embarazos, el seguimiento a los bebés prematuros, las campañas de concientización y la distribución de métodos anticonceptivos, y la construcción de centros de primera infancia, entre otras medidas integrales.
“Me enorgullece saber que estamos haciendo todo lo que está a nuestro alcance para que todos los chicos que nacen lleguen a casa sanos y fuertes para vivir una vida plena. Que empiecen el jardín en igualdad de condiciones con sus compañeros. Que vivan una infancia estimulada y sin necesidades. Y que lleguen a la adultez con todas las herramientas para vivir su vida en libertad”, remarcó Rodríguez Larreta.
Además, afirmó que la lucha contra la mortalidad infantil “tiene que trascender y convertirse en una política de Estado nacional, que sume esfuerzos de todos los colores políticos”. Y agregó: “Bajar la mortalidad infantil va de la mano con el desarrollo de nuestro país, con la disminución de la pobreza, con el crecimiento del trabajo y el acceso a una mejor calidad de vida”.
Por último, remarcó: “Yo estoy seguro de que vamos a dar la pelea en toda la Argentina y de que la vamos a ganar. Porque está demostrado que con planificación, con trabajo serio y con esfuerzo, los resultados llegan”.
El ministro Quirós destacó la cooperación con las diferentes áreas del Gobierno de la Ciudad y la labor de los “trabajadores de salud que realizan sus tareas con una convicción plena de que lo que se hace modifica el devenir de muchas personas”. Y agregó: “Centrándonos en ese cuidado y en ese bienestar, vamos a lograr una sociedad más integrada, con más oportunidades y más justa”.
Por su parte, Vidal afirmó que la baja de la mortalidad infantil en la Ciudad “muestra que los desafíos se pueden encarar y resolver cuando hay planificación, equipo y políticas concretas”
