DETECTAN UN CASO DE DENGUE IMPORTADO EN SAN LUIS

El Ministerio de Salud confirmó el primer caso de dengue importado de la temporada en la provincia. Se trata de una mujer que viajó a visitar a su madre a Santiago del Estero.

Personal del Servicio Vigilancia Epidemiológica del Programa Epidemiología del Ministerio de Salud recibió la notificación desde el sector privado de un caso probable de dengue con antecedentes de viaje a Santiago del Estero.

La paciente comenzó con síntomas, manifestando temperatura mayor a 38°C, cefalea, y dolores musculares entre otros.

El caso fue confirmado por estudios realizados en el Laboratorio de Salud Pública “Dalmiro Pérez Laborda” identificando el Serotipo DEN2.

En el corriente año, a nivel país, se registran 2.717 casos de dengue, de los cuales 2.553 no tienen antecedentes de viaje (adquirieron la infección en su jurisdicción de residencia), 303 se encuentran en investigación y 164 presentan antecedentes de viaje (importados). Se registra circulación viral en 9 jurisdicciones: Buenos Aires, CABA, Córdoba, Formosa, Jujuy, Salta, Santa Fe, Tucumán y Santiago del Estero.

El Servicio de Vigilancia Epidemiológica emitió el siguiente comunicado epidemiológico a fines de informar a la población sobre las medidas de prevención a tener en cuenta:

Debe consultar al médico de manera inmediata, toda persona con antecedentes de haber permanecido o transitado en zonas de transmisión activa de dengue o presencia del mosquito transmisor (Aedes aegypti) en los 15 días previos a la aparición de síntomas tales como: fiebre (mayor a 38°C), acompañado de 2 o más de las siguientes manifestaciones: dolor de cabeza, dolor detrás de los ojos, dolor muscular, dolor articular, erupción en la piel, náuseas o vómitos, dolor abdominal, manchas rojas en la piel (petequias) u otras manifestaciones hemorrágicas, prurito.

Modo de Transmisión: La enfermedad se transmite por la picadura de la hembra infectada del mosquito Aedes aegypti a un huésped susceptible. Periodo de Incubación: de 3 a 14 días. Periodo de Transmisibilidad: para transmitir la enfermedad es necesario que el mosquito haya picado a una persona infectada con el virus del dengue durante el periodo de viremia, que ocurre durante el periodo febril. La hembra del mosquito es transmisora después de un periodo de 7 a 14 días posteriores de haber picado a un enfermo. El mosquito hembra puede transmitir la enfermedad por el resto de su vida, que en promedio es de 10 días (rango: 1-42 días).
