ADVIERTEN QUE LA INFLUENZA AVIAR ES UNA ENFERMEDAD QUE «LLEGÓ PARA QUEDARSE»
Desde el Senasa precisaron que, a poco más de que se cumpliera un mes del primer caso confirmado, en el país ya son 700 mil las aves muertas en los seis focos detectados al momento en el sector comercial.
El Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (Senasa) detectó la última semana 13 nuevos casos positivos de influenza aviar en la Argentina, por lo que suman 59 en total hasta el momento, y si bien desde el organismo explican que la enfermedad «se mueve de acuerdo a lo esperado», advierten que la misma «llegó para quedarse».
«Las aves ya trajeron la enfermedad, la pasaron a aves migratorias de nuestra región y estas últimas están haciendo la circulación dentro de nuestro territorio, con lo cual llegó para quedarse, y lo que tenemos que hacer ahora es involucrar absolutamente a todos los actores, incluyendo a la comunidad en general», dijo la directora nacional de Sanidad Animal del Senasa, Ximena Melón, en diálogo con Télam.
Desde el organismo precisaron que a poco más de que se cumpliera un mes del primer caso confirmado en el país, ya son 700.000 las aves muertas en los seis focos detectados al momento en el sector comercial, un 30% por la propia enfermedad y el 70% restante en el marco de las acciones sanitarias para evitar la dispersión.
La influenza aviar «se mueve de acuerdo a los esperado, vuela con aves migratorias, y por eso fuimos ejecutando todas las medidas de preparación y de alerta sobre la base de presentación y de avance rápido tal como ocurrió», explicó Melón.
Doce de los 13 casos positivos registrados la semana pasada corresponden a aves de traspatio o de corral y se registraron en las provincias de San Luis (Carpintería, 1), Córdoba (Morteritos, 1), Buenos Aires (Berra, 1; General Madariaga, 1; Pedro Luro, 1; y General Conesa, 2), Chaco (Avia Terai, 1), Neuquén (Plottier, 1; y Las Lajas, 1), Santa Fe (Zenon Pereira, 1) y La Pampa (Toay, 1), precisó el Senasa a lo largo de la semana en sus informes diarios. El restante se detectó en una granja comercial de la provincia de Río Negro (Allen).
De esta manera, ya son 59 en total los casos de influenza aviar hasta el momento en todo el país tanto en aves de corral (49) y de granja comercial (6) como silvestres (4).
«Tenemos 59 brotes activos y cada uno de ellos tiene un área de control sanitario de alrededor de 10 kilómetros, que requiere de rastrillaje epidemiológico por parte del personal del Senasa y muestreos que van al laboratorio, en un trabajo muy grande y arduo», destacó Melón.
Todas las muestras, más de 300, fueron analizadas por el Laboratorio Nacional del Senasa ubicado en la localidad bonaerense de Martínez.
Estas notificaciones provinieron de Córdoba (18), Buenos Aires (15), Neuquén (7), Santa Fe (6), Río Negro (4), San Luis (2), Chaco (2), La Pampa (2), Jujuy (1), Santiago del Estero (1) y Salta (1).
«Fue apareciendo en lugares naturales que recibe migraciones de Cochabamba (Bolivia), Jujuy; por eso, no sorprende que haya mayor cantidad de brotes en Córdoba, centro y sur de la provincia de Buenos Aires, Río Negro y Neuquén», detalló la especialista.
Si bien reiteró que la enfermedad avanza «de acuerdo a lo esperado», la directora nacional de Sanidad Animal advirtió este tipo de virus «en las aves se dispersa muy rápida y ampliamente», con lo cual -puntualizó- «requiere de actuar muy rápidamente».
En cuanto al impacto sobre la avicultura comercial, fuentes del Senasa afirmaron que «es muy alto porque la mortandad que produce esta enfermedad es altísima y la capacidad que tiene de seguir dispersándose hace que las medidas para contenerla sea sacrificar a las aves infectadas para evitar que siga siendo una fuente de infección».
«En Argentina y en los países afectados, los de mayor avicultura comercial, el impacto es muy grande, y para el productor que tiene una granja o para el traspatio que tiene para consumo personal es devastador porque en su mayoría muere el 100% de las aves y si no, a través de las medidas, hay que vaciar esa granja», señalaron las fuentes.
Para prevenir que la influenza aviar se expanda en la avicultura, Melón resaltó la importancia de la notificación, la vigilancia continua, la atención y el vaciamiento de lugares donde circula el virus, las desinfecciones y la bioseguridad de las granjas comerciales.
Ante la consulta sobre qué panorama se vislumbra respecto al 15 de febrero, día en el que se se informó oficialmente la aparición del primer caso, la directora nacional de Sanidad Animal puntualizó que «decir o predecir cómo se puede seguir comportando tiene muchísimo que ver con la capacidad que tengamos como sistema público-privado de contenerla, vigilarla y notificarla».
Esto de se debe a que la influenza aviar procede, generalmente, de las aves migratorias.
«Nosotros tenemos un mapa del movimiento de las aves, lo importante es que cuando esa ave llega y deposita el virus en algún lugar, quizás esa ave se ve poco afectada o no y sigue avanzando hacia otros lugares; entonces ahí se produce la dispersión local, para lo cual es muy importante la notificación inmediata, la atención precoz de los brotes y la bioseguridad», recalcó Melón.
Por eso, aclaró que «la enfermedad va a seguir moviéndose y no se espera, aunque había cierta expectativa por el comportamiento anterior, de que venga en primavera-verano con las migraciones del hemisferio norte y que vuelva allí con su primavera-verano; eso ya no es más así», señaló.
Desde el Senasa recomiendan en caso de observarse la presencia o sospecha de signos clínicos compatibles con influenza aviar en aves o el hallazgo de aves domésticas y/o silvestres muertas, notificar de manera inmediata al organismo.
Esto puede hacerse concurriendo a cualquiera de sus oficinas; por medio de la aplicación «Notificaciones Senasa», enviando un correo electrónico a notificaciones@senasa.gob.ar; ingresando al apartado «Avisa al Senasa» del sitio web del organismo; o enviando un mensaje por WhatsApp al 11-5700-5704.
