EL NUEVO GOBIERNO PROVINCIAL INTERVINO LA UNIVERSIDAD DE LA PUNTA
Ante el irregular nombramiento de María Eugenia Catalfamo de parte de la gestión saliente, el gobernador Claudio Poggi decidió designar por decreto como nuevo interventor al doctor en Ciencias Matemáticas Luis Guillermo Quintas, en tanto que María Eugenia Vergés ocupará el cargo de Secretaria General de la casa de estudios y Marcelo Genaro Neme quedó como Secretario Legal y Técnico.
El gobernador Claudio Poggi firmó un decreto, en el que acompaña con su firma el ministro de Educación, Guillermo Araujo, por el cual intervino la Universidad de La Punta, dejando sin efecto el nombramiento de María Eugenia Catalfamo de parte de la gestión que acaba de dejar el poder. En su lugar, ingresa Luis Guillermo Quintas como interventor, acompañado por María Eugenia Vergés como Secretaria General y Marcelo Neme como Secretario Legal y Técnico. Como Quintas afronta algunos problemas personales, por ahora Vergés quedará a cargo de la casa de estudios hasta que el interventor normalice su situación. Los tres fueron puestos en funciones por el Escribano General de Gobierno, Juan José Laborda Ibarra.
El decreto explica que la designación de Catalfamo fue irregular desde el momento que ocupa una banca en el Senado de la Nación, cuando el estatuto de la universidad exige dedicación exclusiva al cargo. Además, la senadora nacional no cumple con tres requisitos indispensables, ya que no fue nunca profesor titular de alguna universidad acreditada, tampoco tiene cinco años de actuación académica universitaria ni cuenta con experiencia en la dirección y gestión de organismos públicos o instituciones privadas, ni participó en proyectos de alcance internacional, como exige el mismo estatuto.
El gobierno justifico la intervención de la Universidad de La Punta, ya que solo de ese modo puede garantizarse el normal y legal funcionamiento de casa de altos estudios y la validez de sus actos en el orden académico, administrativo, de extensión universitaria y demás actos institucionales, a los efectos de salvaguardar derechos fundamentales de estudiantes, docentes, personal administrativo y terceros. Como está en receso la Legislatura, el plazo de la Intervención será de seis meses y ad referendum de lo que decida ese cuerpo luego de cumplido el plazo.
