¿Daniel contanos para comenzar, cómo y cuando empezó tu interés por la Huerta Orgánica y cuando decidiste que esté podía ser un buen emprendimiento ?
Mí interés por la huerta orgánica, nace casi conmigo, ya que mí abuelo materno era chacarero, él mí hizo amar la tierra, y disfrutar de sus beneficios.
Más que un emprendimiento, lo considero una forma de vida, una manera de disfrutar y aprender de cada uno de los seres vivos que conforman un ecosistema en la huerta.
¿Que tipo de cultivos tenés? y ¿con la materia prima haces también algún tipo de producto terminado ?
Los productos son variados y dependen de la estación. Zapallos de diferentes clases, tomates, lechuga, habas, acelga, rabanitos, ajos gigantes, cebollas, pimientos, ajíes, berenjenas, melón, sandías, maíz, etcétera. Hacemos un cultivo rotativo para no agotar la tierra y no generar enfermedades o plagas.
Los excedentes también los utilizamos como productos para conservas, cómo tomate triturado, salsas con berenjenas, pimientos y ajos, dulces de zapallo, sandía y también de tomate entre otros.
¿Crees que está actividad también es un estilo de vida? ¿Trabajas solo ,o tenés otros colaboradores?
Creo que la labranza de la tierra es sin duda, una filosofía de vida. Inicié éste proyecto con el fin de poder enseñar y motivar a mis vecinos sobre ésta cultura, de producir alimentos sanos y libre de agroquímicos.
Los beneficios en la economía familiar y la posibilidad de llevarlo al plano laboral, como una alternativa económica. La verdad que es un trabajo en familia, todos de un modo u otro colaboran.
¿Para ir finalizando, cómo impacta está actividad en el contexto de la localidad de Balde y su comunidad ?
Bueno en realidad, me gustaría que hubiese sido más aceptado. En setiembre pasado, en plena pandemia repartí cientos de semillas para iniciar las huertas familiares, logré que varias familias individualmente comenzarán con las prácticas. Me hubiera gustado que se sumarán muchas más.
De igual manera seguiré trabajando en mostrar los beneficios que produce ésta práctica, no solamente en la economía familiar, sino en la salud del quienes producen y consumen éstos productos libres de todo tipo de venenos. También tienen que comprender que puede ser una opción laboral rentable como complemento.
