Fabio Ariel López llegó a la provincia en 1996, luego de haberse recibido en una escuela técnica en la Provincia cuyana y hermana, Mendoza. Hoy se dedica a la gastronomía y remarca la importancia de los alimentos populares.

Inició sus estudios universitarios con Geología, sin embargo, no tan convencido ya que se proyectaba como un Chef que tiempo después sucedió un alineamiento con ese anhelo. En el 2003 fallece su padre, quien costeaba los gastos en su cursada universitaria. Este acontecimiento penoso, decide iniciar actividades en la gastronomía.

Estudió en el IGA -Instituto Gastronómico Argentino-, donde se capacitó, incorporó y practicó varias comidas del recetario. A Fabio eso lo llevó a mejorar sus habilidades, transmitidas en sus platos a nuestro deleite.

Trabajó en el Hotel Potrero de los Funes, en el Hotel Dos Venados, bares, restaurantes y eventos, hasta que comenzó su propio emprendimiento: Vikingo, un proyecto móvil de cocina a leña. Posee un gran fogonero móvil, que transporta al domicilio donde realiza el evento, y es donde se puede hacer comidas a la llama, a la parrilla y al disco. El emprendimiento de López.

A fines del año 2019 ingresa al Canal 13, donde muestra un poco de temor a las cámaras y lo supera gracias a un gran equipo de compañeros que lo asesoraron. Según Fabio, al principio los televidentes y en las redes sociales, no respondían mucho a los platos que su recetario ofrecía. Así es que decidió cambiar las recetas, llevando al contexto actual con comidas populares. Algo que poco a poco pueda tener algo diferente en la transmisión, y además contar lo que comúnmente tenemos en nuestras cocinas.

Comida simples, con buen gusto.

La gente de barrio, del interior de la provincia son los que miran diariamente el programa. Estos usualmente no cuentan con los recursos económicos para realizar comidas de un alto costo. Por eso, Fabio salió de los platos exóticos y costosos y decidió hacer comidas tradicionales que consumen los puntanos.

Voluntarioso defensor de la comida regional puntana, su objetivo es buscar aquellas personas poco conocidas y que día a día cocinan comida popular para revalorizarlas y dar un sello nuevo a la gastronomía para su atracción turística. Su principal sueño es poder capacitar a aquellas personas que cocinan en comedores populares. Según sus comentarios en otras notas desea que en las escuelas de cocina se dicte como parte del curso recetas que caracterizan a cada localidad Puntana.
