En esta Villa quedan los aires de pueblo , de las casas bajas y lo que más busca el turista, sobre todo el que viene de la ciudad, que es paz y tranquilidad.

Merlo tiene como característica única en nuestro país, pertenecer a uno de los tres microclimas del mundo. Los otros están en California, Estados Unidos y en un valle que alberga la Ciudad de Sion en Suiza.

Pero cuáles son las características de un microclima y qué sería lo tan beneficioso para la salud ? La Ciudad se encuentra entres dos cordones montañosos, lo que hace que el clima sea seco, las lluvias escasas y una temperatura media de 20°. Por otro lado los antiguos macizos son los que despiden una carga eléctrica muy baja con ionización negativa mientras que a la vez liberan átomos de oxígeno que luego se transforman en ozono.

Esto de que su aire tenga más ozono que lo normal sumado a un alto grado de ionización negativa (un energizante y estimulante natural para el cuerpo) y la presencia de un óxido nitroso que, según se dice, genera sensación de bienestar, aseguran muchas personas que allí se vive más y mejor.

Esto es lo que busca quien elige esta villa para vivir o para una estadía como turista, una inyección natural de bienestar, que se suma al sol permanente que otorga sus beneficios al ánimo y al cuerpo como fomentar la producción de vitamina D.

Más allá de generosidad de la madre naturaleza, hay un esfuerzo por mantener este «clima sanador» tanto de los residentes como de su actual Intendente Juan Álvarez Pintos, conservando la ciudad libre de contaminación y preservando el equilibrio armoniosos entre naturaleza e infraestructura.

  157. Gary Rasbury here. I played many a game against Dann Kallman and Ed Johnson. Jabo Waggoner and I won the doubles in 1968 and we had to beat Danny and Ray Large. Then after that my pa rtner was Bill Gaulden, a great athlete. We won the doubles tournament every year we entered it until 1986 when because of my business I quit the Y. I went almost every week day from 1965 to 1986. At the old Y we had to walk up 11 stories the last few years because the elevator didn’t work. I would not take anything for all the friends I et there and the good times we had. My last singles tournament in 1985 or 1986 I beat Warren Lightfoot for the Championship. It was 98 degrees in the shade and about 130 on the cement floor. I almost had a heat stroke. I couldn’t leave the Y for 2 hours. I told Warren I was going to sue him because he wouldn’t postpone it. ha. We call Warren lighten because he was so fast. Thank all you guys for sharing the info. Gary Rasbury
