Godoy Cruz no sale de su asombro desde que ayer sábado fue encontrado sin vida el cuerpo del futbolista Santiago “Morro” García, al parecer producto de un disparo con una 22 en el parietal derecho.

El futbolista fue hallado en el mediodía de ayer, en su departamento ubicado a pocos kilómetros de la capital, y por ahora se especula con un posible suicidio. La policía científica rápidamente comenzó a peritar el lugar, y en estos días se conocerán los detalles de su muerte.

Al principio, y cómo solo era un rumor, algunos hinchas del “Tomba” se fueron acercando hasta la calle Yrigoyen al 100, domicilio del jugador, para saber que pasaba. Pero a medida que se iba conociendo mas y más hinchas se acercaron lo que motivo un operativo policial que termino cortando la calle.

Además de jugar en Godoy Cruz, desde 2016, el jugador de 30 años tuvo un extenso recorrido por el fútbol mundial, jugando en clubes como Nacional de Montevideo, Atlético Paranaense (Brasil), Kasimpasa (Turquía) y River (Uruguay). Se rumorea que no estaba pasando un buen momento, y estaba bajo tratamiento psiquiátrico, pero que, al enterarse de no ser considerado en el equipo titular por el técnico “quedó muy afectado”.

Asimismo, estaba bajo una fuerte presión emocional por no poder ver a su hija, que vive en Uruguay, desde diciembre, y que todas estas circunstancias lo tenían a mal traer. El goleador queda en el recuerdo de los hinchas, quienes expresaron en las redes la tristeza por la pérdida de un gran ídolo del club.
