Derrumbe en Miami: los muertos ascienden a 10
Los rescatistas siguen hallando cuerpos, aunque todavía siguen sin aparecer 151 personas. Entre ellos hay 29 latinoamericanos y 9 argentinos.
Escombro por escombro. Así transcurre la búsqueda de 151 personas que se encontraban en Champlain Towers, el edificio derrumbado hace días en Surfside. Ayer lunes se halló el décimo cuerpo sin vida, según informó Daniela Levine Cava, alcaldeza de Miami-Dade.
De este modo, las últimas cifras del accidente permanecen así: 135 personas encontradas, 151 desaparecidos y 10 muertos.
Ya es el quinto día de búsquedas entre los escombros: el personal de Bomberos del lugar recibió apoyo inmediato de equipos de todo el estado de Florida. Aunque los rastreos son incesantes, los familiares de las víctimas criticaron la lentitud con la que avanzan los hallazgos. «Parece lento, pero estamos avanzando lo más rápido posible», dijo Maggie Castro, integrante de la Unidad de Búsqueda y Rescate Nº 1 del Departamento de Bomberos de Miami-Dade.
La rescatista subrayó la dificultad del lugar donde transcurre el operativo. Las tormentas eléctricas interrumpieron por momentos la búsqueda, junto con un incendio que tuvo lugar en el complejo.
Además, Castro sostuvo que pueden existir bolsas de aire entre los escombros y podría haber sobrevivientes allí. Si el operativo no se hace de manera metódica, esos lugares podrían desmoronarse.
29 latinoamericanos desaparecidos
Las informaciones disponibles aseguran que entre los escombros hay nueve argentinos, seis colombianos, seis paraguayos, cuatro venezolanos, tres uruguayos y un chileno.
Se conoció la identidad de cuatro de los desaparecidos argentinos: se trata de Andrés Galfrascoli, un cirujano de 44 años; su pareja Fabián Núñez, de 55; y Sofía Galfrascoli Núñez, de 5 años, hija de ambos. En el inmueble también se encontraba un mayor de edad, llamado Manuel Lafont.
