Ser estudiante en la UNViMe: ¿Qué debo tener en cuenta para ingresar a la Universidad?

Estudiar en una universidad es un cambio muy importante en la vida de las personas y, como todo cambio, exige reorganizarse para adaptarse mejor a las nuevas prácticas. Desde UNViMe proponen una serie de aspectos a tener en cuenta para que la adaptación a la vida universitaria sea exitosa.

El momento de elegir una carrera universitaria es un paso muy importante para cualquier persona: implica el grado más alto de desarrollo educativo y supone que uno ha pasado las instancias formativas obligatorias como el primario y el secundario. Mejor dicho, entrar a la universidad es una elección de quienes están motivados por el deseo de aprender. Ese cambio requiere una reorganización para adaptarse a las nuevas prácticas que propone una casa de estudios.

En la UNViMe y en todas las universidades públicas este cambio constituye un derecho de las personas. El Artículo 2 de la Ley de Educación Nacional reza: “La educación y el conocimiento son un bien público y un derecho personal y social, garantizados por el Estado”. Ahora bien, ¿Qué es ser estudiante en la UNViMe?

Te lo resumimos en algunos puntos clave:

  • Mayor margen de libertad: ya no hay citas a los padres, preceptores que controlen como nos comportamos, ni profesores que insistan en la entrega de trabajos. Ahora sos vos quien decide si va o no a clase, y quien decide cuanto tiempo de su día puede dedicar al estudio. Es libertad, y también responsabilidad: puede provocar miedos, asombro y acomodamientos en los estudiantes.
  • La Universidad te acompaña: Si lo anterior te puso nervioso, podes estar tranquilo. La UNViMe desarrolló un sistema de acompañamiento para ayudarte: el Curso de Preingreso e Ingreso, el taller de TVU, el Espacio de Apoyo y Orientación al Estudiante, el espacio de tutorías y la entrega de diferentes tipos de becas, entre otras estrategias, están diseñadas para que a este nuevo camino lo puedan recorrer sin sentirse en soledad.
  • Conquista de autonomía: es uno de los objetivos de la Educación Superior. La universidad puede pensarse como un nivel culminativo para aquellos adultos que buscan nuevas herramientas para insertarse en la vida laboral activa.
  • Entrada voluntaria: empezar a estudiar es una decisión personal y voluntaria. Sin embargo, también puede verse forzada por las exigencias del mercado de trabajo, o porque la escuela media no asegura las mejores oportunidades laborales.
  • Tiempo y espacio: la lógica temporal del año universitario no es continua. Eso significa que tu año se divide en dos cuatrimestres, en donde los cursos pueden tener distintas duraciones, los horarios se modifican con cada profesor y el nivel de horas por semana puede ir variando. Eso da cuenta de los esfuerzos que uno realiza siendo universitario. A nivel espacio, la universidad puede resultarte enorme: en UNViMe cuentan con diversas sedes, principalmente alojadas dentro de Villa Mercedes.
  • Integración/Afiliación:  La afiliación va más lejos que la simple integración, ella es el aprendizaje de la autonomía, a través de la participación activa en una tarea colectiva. Más allá de la integración, la afiliación transforma el mundo universitario, en principio extraño, en un universo familiar que será luego identificado como “actitud natural”. Afiliarse es entonces naturalizar, al incorporar las prácticas y los funcionamientos universitarios a fin de devenir un miembro competente de la comunidad.
  • ¿Cómo puedo participar en la vida universitaria?: En la UNViMe existen diferentes tipos de actividades para realizar: presenciar y realizar actividades culturales, participar en el Centro de Estudiantes, visitar la biblioteca, si es necesario asistir a las tutorías de apoyo, formar parte de proyectos de investigación o de voluntariado universitario, hacer deportes, y formar parte de las ofertas de extensión como actividades de canto, música, idiomas.
