El equipo de Lincoln fue mejor, pero no pudo ganarlo en los 90 minutos. Desde los doce pasos, el arquero Joaquín De los Reyes fue figura ante el Chacarero y El León celebró en La Pedrera. Ahora, jugará en la máxima categoría del Consejo Federal de AFA.

El Linqueño alcanzó la gloria esta tarde en el estadio La Pedrera, en Villa Mercedes, provincia de San Luis, al derrotar por penales a San Martín de Mendoza, en una de las finales interregionales del Torneo Federal Regional Amateur. Con este resultado, el equipo dirigido por Maxi Antonelli hizo historia y consiguió el ascenso al Torneo Federal A, máxima categoría del Consejo Federal de AFA.

El León fue mejor en el trámite global de la final, pero no pudo concretarlo en la red y debió sufrir en la tanda de penales. 

Desde los doce pasos, el arquero linqueñista Joaquín De Los Reyes que soportó una lesión de rodilla que casi lo margina de la final, contuvo el primer disparo de la tanda, ejecutado por Nicolás Inostroza, y dejó a su equipo en posición favorable para comandar la serie. 

 El Linqueño no dejó escapar la oportunidad: Gabriel Serrano, Gonzalo Baglivo, Matías Medina y Maxi Núñez convirtieron sus respectivos disparos, mientras que el experimentado defensor José San Román, desperdició otro penal en la tando lo que le permitió al cuadro de Maximiliano Antonelli el pase directo al Federal A.
