«Hay que prepararse para tener malas noticias»: así declaró el gobernador de Florida, Ron DeSantis. El desplome de un edificio en Surfside, cerca de la zona llamada «Little Buenos Aires», mató al menos a 4 personas. Sin embargo, todos temen que la cifra crezca en las próximas horas.

Para la primera mañana se había confirmado la desaparición de 159 personas, que ocupaban el edificio al momento del derrumbe. Los primeros rastreos constataron que unas 35 personas habían resultado heridas. Asimismo, para la mañana los rescatistas habían hallado a 14 sobrevivientes entre los escombros.

Se calcula que 18 desaparecidos eran latinoamericanos. Además de los 9 argentinos buscados, hay 3 uruguayos y 6 paraguayos bajo los escombros. Los desaparecidos de Paraguay son familiares del presidente guaraní, Mario Abdo Benítez: el mandatario ya suspendió su agenda del día de hoy.

¿Quienes son los argentinos desaparecidos?

La Cancillería Argentina anunció que ninguno de los coterráneos fue hallado por los rescatistas. En el edificio se encontraban Nicolás Vázquez y Gimena Accardi: residían en Champlain Towers desde comienzos de junio y pudieron salir del lugar antes del desplome.

Se conoció la identidad de cuatro de los desaparecidos: se trata de Andrés Galfrascoli, un cirujano de 44 años; su pareja Fabián Núñez, de 55; y Sofía Galfrascoli Núñez, de 5 años, hija de ambos. En el inmueble también se encontraba un mayor de edad, llamado Manuel Lafont.
