Merlo adquirió un Quirófano Móvil de Mascotas
El equipo fue adquirido por el Ente Mixto de Bienestar Animal -EMBA- gracias a los aportes de las tasas municipales. Con el quirófano buscan regular la natalidad de animales domésticos de manera descentralizada.
Este lunes apenas pasado el mediodía, el Ente Mixto de Bienestar Animal -EMBA- presentó su nuevo quirófano móvil de mascotas en la Plaza Horizonte Azul de la Villa de Merlo. El equipo, adquirido gracias a los aportes de tasas municipales, será usado para castrar animales domésticos de manera descentralizada.
El quirófano se trasladará a los domicilios de aquellos vecinos que no puedan llevar sus mascotas a un centro veterinario o al área de Zoonosis. Asimismo, trabajará de manera complementaria con el Quirófano Municipal, que seguirá funcionando con normalidad.
La presentación contó con funcionarios y personal municipal, miembros del EMBA y asociaciones proteccionistas. Los vecinos que se acercaron fueron invitados a colaborar en la concientización sobre la tenencia responsable de mascotas en la villa.
El Ente Mixto de Bienestar Animal
El organismo fue creado el año pasado, aunque la ordenanza que disponía su creación data de 2014. A principios de 2020 el ejecutivo municipal convocó a veterinarios, proteccionistas y asociaciones ligadas al derecho animal, conformando así su comisión directiva.
En su corta existencia, el EMBA construyó un registro de hogares de Tránsito, asistió con alimento a protectoras, recuperó y rehabilitó animales silvestres y llevó adelante varias campañas de concientización. Asimismo, en Zoonosis ya llevan castrados 2053 perros y gatos y vacunaron a 5600 animales contra la rabia.
