La demo de este juego dura 20 minutos, y presenta un atisbo de lo que podrá verse cuando salga a la luz. Además, según los desarrolladores, requiere de mucha atención, porque los detalles que tiene hace que sea fácil perderse una gran cantidad de secretos.

Esta nueva versión inicia con el jugador en un calabozo muy antiguo, dónde tiene que demostrar su habilidad para escapar de allí. La clave, es una nota escondida que da las pistas para escabullirse y poder continuar explorando una atmósfera cargada de tensión y terror.

Como todos los capítulos de esta saga, cada puerta es un misterio, y puede contener una trampa mortal si uno no está lo suficientemente preparado para reaccionar. Los players, deberán ir descubriendo paso a paso todo lo nuevo que va a traer esta apasionante historia de zombies, que casualmente, inicia con la fuga de un virus de un laboratorio, y va contagiando a toda la humanidad. El mundo que propone Resident Evil es postapocalíptico, donde cada sobreviviente lucha por sobrevivir a la horda de zombis mutantes que acechan a cada paso.
