A partir de ahora no se podrán crear marcas con ese nombre o sus seudónimos. Matías Morla, ex abogado del 10, es el apoderado de la marca.

Morla fue abogado de Diego durante años. Hoy se quedó con toda la marca Maradona.

Giannina y Dalma Maradona iniciaron una causa al abogado Matías Morla  por presunta defraudación luego de que su empresa, Sattvica S.A, hiciera 147 solicitudes para registrar marcas relacionadas con Maradona ante el Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Intelectual -INPI-. Según denuncian, el objetivo es quedarse con los derechos del nombre, la imagen y los pseudónimos del fallecido astro.

Carlos Donoso Castex, fiscal de la causa, sostuvo: «Si bien formalmente la empresa no estaba impedida de hacerlo, no deja de ser un aspecto a subrayar la ocasión elegida para iniciar tamaña cantidad de solicitudes de registro de nuevas marcas vinculadas al nombre, pseudónimo o imágenes representativas de Diego Armando Maradona».

El letrado también afirmó que ya existían conflictos entre Morla, accionario principal de Sattvica S.A, y los herederos de Diego. Las tensiones venían desde antes de la muerte del 10: la presencia de Morla como allegado de Maradona había inmerso a la familia en diversos conflictos.

En consecuencia, el Juez determinó «ampliar la orden de prohibición de innovar y contratar» todas las solicitudes de marcas «relacionadas con el nombre, los pseudónimos y la representación de la imagen de Diego Armando Maradona, en todas sus variantes. Esta prohibición será global: ni siquiera los emprendimientos fuera de territorio argentino podrán usar el nombre de Maradona.

La prohibición también aplica para marcas que quieran usar los siguientes seudónimos: «Diego Maradona», «Diego», «Diegol», «Maradona», «Diego Armando Maradona», «La Mano de Dios» o «El 10».

¿Sello de goma?

Ante las sospechas de la familia hacia la firma de Morla, la justicia ordenó la prohibición del uso de la marca «Sattvica». La firma fue creada en 2015, y según la denuncia de las hijas de Diego su objetivo era ser lo que llaman un «sello de goma» para apropiarse de todas las marcas del difunto jugador.
