Nada más y nada menos que en el día del músico argentino, día que se conmemora en honor al nacimiento del grande de Luis Alberto Spinetta, falleció Gabriel Ruíz Díaz ex bajista fundacional de la banda.
Gabriel tenía 45 años y había sufrido en 2006 un accidente de auto en el barrio porteño de Palermo, sufriendo graves daños físicos, por sobre todo neurológicos que trataba con diferentes rehabilitaciones.
La noticia la dió su hermano Fernando, cantante y líder de las banda a través de su posteo en las redes sociales:
“Amores, hoy se fue Gabi. Se fue tranquilo, en paz” “Gabi el amigo, el hermano, el bajista, el artista, el científico, el músico, el hijo. Un animal de música. Un ser amoroso, generoso, bueno. Brillante. Y sobre todo, un guerrero, un guerrero que siempre dio todo y un poco más”.
“Gracias, hermano mío por todo. Te fuiste hoy en el día del Músico Argentino. Un día, en una entrevista, le preguntaron cuál era el disco que más le gustaba de la historia de nuestro amado rock argentino, y Gabi dijo: ‘Artaud, de Luis Alberto Spinetta’. Seguramente te debe estar esperando para que con tus cuatro cuerdas mágicas hagas lo que más amaste en tu maravillosa e increíble vida. El bajo y la música. Vuela alto, como siempre lo hiciste hermano mío. Hermano de Todos. Gracias por lo que diste y nos diste. Que estés bien donde quiera que estés, que de seguro será ese lugar donde el tiempo no corre, donde nada se llama, donde simplemente sos”.
Un día triste para el rock nacional en la Tierra pero flor de banda que se está armando allá arriba.
