Lo que dejaron los Oscars 2021: una carpeta roja bajo estricto protocolo
La noche de gala de Hollywood se presentó desde dos lugares en paralelo: el tradicional Dolby Theatre de los Ángeles y el Union Station.
Tras dos meses extra de espera la edición N°93 de los Oscars tuvo lugar, y fue presencial. Para hacerla segura los organizadores usaron la Union Station como sede central: es una estación de trenes con mucha historia en Los Ángeles. A este recinto se sumó el tradicional Dolby Theatre, desde donde hubieron algunas transmisiones.
Los más internalizados en el cine se sorprendieron con el formato de filmación: visualmente la ceremonia tuvo una estética de cine, con 24 frames por segundo, formato panorámico y encuadres más típicos de una película que de un evento de televisión.
Los premios fueron entregando por celebridades de la pantalla grande: Harrison Ford, Reese Witherspoon, Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, Brad Pitt, Laura Dern y Bong Joon-ho; entre otros.
Algunas de las premiaciones destacadas fueron: Nomadland como mejor película, y su realizadora Chloé Zhao como mejor directora. Así, Zhao se convirtió en la segunda mujer en la historia en ganar un Oscar a mejor dirección, tras Kathryn Bigelow.
El galardón a la mejor actriz protagónica fue para Frances McDormand: ya es el tercer premio de la Academia en este rubro para la talentosa actriz. En cambio, fue sorpresa para muchos la consagración de Anthony Hopkins como mejor actor protagónico: su papel en The Father le valió el récord como el actor más longevo en ganar el premio.
Por último, la película danesa Another Found fue elegida como el mejor film internacional. Fue dirigida por Thomas Vinterberg y contó con la actuación de Mads Mikkelsen.
