Destino Haití: partió la primera puntana de Cascos Blancos

María Victoria Hierholzer emprendió rumbo al país caribeño para prestar ayuda humanitaria. Este jueves se despidió de su familia y comenzó su viaje hasta Puerto Príncipe.

La noche del jueves fue pura emoción para María Victoria Hierholzer, la obstetra de 36 años que viajó como voluntaria a Haití. Es la primera puntana en Cascos Blancos Argentina y prestará ayuda humanitaria en el país caribeño, devastado tras su segundo terremoto en 11 años.

María Victoria se despidió de su familia ayer por la noche, antes de partir a Buenos Aires. Desde allí se dirigirá a Puerto Príncipe, capital de un país desolado tras el terremoto con epicentro en el Departamento de Petit Trou de Nippes. Hierholzer es una de los 25 voluntarios que Cascos Blancos enviará al caribe para tareas de ayuda humanitaria: el operativo está a cargo de la Cancillería Argentina y el Ministerio de Defensa.

La misión se trasladará a Puerto Príncipe en un avión Hércules de la Fuerza Aérea Argentina. El equipo llevará suministros médicos y medicamentos, además de pastillas potabilizadoras, frazadas y otros insumos de emergencias para montar un puesto de atención sanitaria en la zona más afectada.

“Es muy emocionante para mí, es algo que esperé muchos años y gracias a Dios, se pudo llevar a cabo de manos de Cascos Blancos. Viajaré como misión humanitaria para ayudar a raíz del terremoto que sufrieron el fin de semana pasado. Salgo este jueves rumbo a Buenos Aires, y luego todo el grupo saldrá el sábado hacia Haití. Viajaremos desde El Palomar hasta Puerto Príncipe, pero luego nos instalaremos en la zona del epicentro”, relató la mujer emocionada.

“Tengo el apoyo de mi familia que hace mucho me viene soportando con esta idea, y también agradezco al gobernador de la Provincia y al ministro de Desarrollo Social, quienes me hicieron saber todo su respaldo y me expresaron sus buenas intenciones. Yo trabajo en el Plan de Inclusión Social, en Epidemiología, pedí el permiso correspondiente y me comunicaron su apoyo. Estoy muy contenta”, añadió la obstetra.
