¿Qué dirías si te ofrecen recorrer 4 continentes y 20 países haciendo off road en tu camioneta? Un interrogante similar se pasó por la cabeza de Fabián Garrido, puntano por adopción de 57 años. Junto a sus amigos preparan todo para la «Vuelta al Mundo Off Road»: un desafío para conocer el mundo poniendo a prueba las robustas Toyota Hilux del equipo.

La travesía comienza el 12 de febrero y durará al menos 9 meses: a Fabián lo acompañará su pareja, oriunda de La Rioja. Algunos de los miembros del equipo eligieron a sus familias para tan ambiciosa aventura. «Consiste en dar la vuelta al mundo, pero haciendo circuitos off road, a lo largo de los países que vamos cruzando. Además, es la travesía de ‘la hermandad’, porque nos van a esperar grupos locales en todos los países que pasamos para mostrar sus lugares y circuitos, en eventos de intercambio cultural, que son muy lindos», confesó emocionado nuestro protagonista.

¿Qué países recorrerán?

Garrido relató que el viaje puede extenderse hasta 14 meses, y que si bien planearon conocer más de 20 países aspiran llegar hasta Qatar y sueñan con conquistar un quinto continente. En América, la travesía pasará por Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Brasil, Panamá, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, México, Estados Unidos y Canadá. También pasarán por Asia, Europa y África, con paradas en Marruecos y Egipto.

Con edades que van de 5 a 70 años, el equipo planea pasar las noches acampando y produciendo su propia comida. «Creo que lo más difícil va a ser la convivencia, encontrarnos todos formando un equipo. Después, los problemas que vayan surgiendo los vamos a ir acomodando, tenemos ciertas capacidades técnicas y llevamos repuestos, lo necesario para poder solucionar inconvenientes menores. Después, vamos a contar con la solidaridad del camino, que siempre está presente», manifestó Eduardo de Nicola, de Capital Federal.
