Tuvimos el agrado de conversar con el artista puntano. Pintura, fotografía y gastronomía: una vida dedicada al arte.

Andrés pinta desde niño y la vida adulta lo encuentra creando todos los días.

Aprender escuchando al otro. Hace algunos días pudimos conversar un poco con Andrés Bustos Flitt. Andrés es licenciado en Arte y Chef Profesional, aunque los títulos no definen su esencia: la de un artista.

Dedicado a la pintura, actualmente lleva adelante una muestra en Casa de San Luis. Se mostró interesado por la dinámica virtual y las posibilidades que abre mostrar su trabajo de esta manera. La muestra se llama «Retrospectiva», ya que es una colección de pinturas que abarcan varios años, aunque siempre siguiendo una continuidad. Una muestra donde el espectador puede sacar sus propias conclusiones.

Desde La Voz Puntana tuvimos la oportunidad de hablar con el, y la entrevista se reproduce a continuación:

-Si yo te preguntara a que te dedicas, ¿Cómo calificarías lo que vos haces?

–El arte y la cultura forman parte de mi vida cotidiana. Como profesión, me dedico al arte y la pintura, y eso incluye muchas cosas: no solo hay un trabajo físico sobre la pintura, también incluye un trabajo conceptual y de ideas. Lo que se desarrollan son pensamientos, en un proceso que incluye muchas etapas.

Actualmente mi profesión es la pintura, aunque también trabajo como docente. Tengo algunas horas en dos escuelas, todas en materias relacionadas al arte.

-¿Cómo fue que descubriste tu pasión por las artes?

-Como a todo niño siempre me gustó dibujar y pintar. Tuve la suerte de que mis viejos me incentivaron a desarrollar este lado, que con la adultez generalmente se pierde. Mis papas me ayudaron a contar cosas en dibujos: me mandaron a diferentes talleres de pintura, cerámica.

De más grande me fui a estudiar a Córdoba. Empecé a estudiar otras carreras y las dejé. Ahí decidí estudiar algo más relacionado a mi pasión, la pintura. Empecé la Licenciatura en Arte en la Facultad de Artes de la UNC. Fueron 5 años y una tesis, que terminaron en 2006 cuando me recibí. Desde ahí puedo decir que me dedico profesionalmente a la pintura.

También soy profesional gastronómico: me recibí ese mismo año y me ayudó a ir mechando. Fue trabajando en cocina mientras pintaba. Incluso mi vuelta a San Luis fue por una oferta laboral como chef.

-Me gustó esto que mencionaste sobre tu familia y el apoyo que te dio. ¿Qué papel crees que tuvieron en lo que sos hoy como persona y artista?

-Creo que todo tiene que ver con ellos. No venimos vacíos de información, y a su vez creo que la familia tiene un papel determinante en el desarrollo de la persona, tanto en sus proyectos como en sus deseos. Uno siempre de niño tiene cosas con las que fantasea, y es trabajo como adulto apoyarse e incentivarte a desarrollar eso.

Hoy no sería lo que soy sin el apoyo de mis viejos. Me doy cuenta que en muchas cosas mías, llevo cosas de ellos. Y estoy orgulloso de eso.

-Excelente. El otro día leí una nota que te hicieron en La República, en donde mencionás que el arte a vos te salva. ¿En qué sentido crees que lo hace?

-Creo que el arte me lleva a espacios y escenarios que no me llevan otras cosas. A mí el arte me ocupa todo el día: me paso todo el día en el taller. Eso no quiere decir que todo el tiempo esté pintando.

Últimamente, con esta situación que todos vivimos llenos de miedo, estrés e incertidumbre, hay muchas emociones que se potencian. Y ahí creo que el arte me ayuda a canalizar un montón de cosas, a cambiar el foco de lugar y tener problemas que para mí se hacen más productivos. Por ejemplo, me preocupo porque un color o una figura no me salen, o por estar poco conforme con una composición. En ese sentido creo que el arte pone la preocupación en un lugar mucho más sano para mi.

-¿Vos sentís que tu profesión te ayuda a transitar este momento de pandemia?

–Mucho. No solo mi profesión, sino la manera en que esta me lleva a ver el mundo y las cosas. Hay otra sensibilidad y una manera de conectarse con otras cosas, de mirar al mundo desde otro lugar. Por ejemplo, a mi me gusta mucho la naturaleza. Cuando la veo miro colores, líneas, formas y texturas. Estoy concentrado en eso. En ese sentido creo que me ayuda mucho.

-¿Hay algún lugar donde podamos ver más trabajos tuyos?

–No, por lo general trabajo haciendo muestras. La última presencial la hice acá en San Luis a fines de 2019. La que estoy haciendo ahora es mi primer muestra virtual.

-Bien. Quisiera que me cuentes un poco más sobre la muestra que estás haciendo ahora en Casa de San Luis. ¿Cómo surgió la iniciativa?

-Hace varios años me propusieron exponer en Buenos Aires y me habían ofrecido hacer una exposición en la Casa de San Luis en Buenos Aires. Lamentablemente, no se pudo dar y quedó pendiente. Ahora surgió la propuesta, porque también es mas accesible. Es muy complicado armar una muestra, por los costos de mover las pinturas. Virtualmente es mucho más accesible.

Había una serie de obras que quería mostrar, algunas de hace mucho. Por eso la muestra se llama «Retrospectiva», porque son obras de diferentes periodos, aunque creo que son consecutivas y parte del mismo proceso mío como artista. Si bien algunos detalles son diferentes entre obras, se mantienen muchas cosas.

-¿Cómo te sentiste al ver el recorrido de tu propia obra?

–Bien, me gusta. Soy bastante solitario para trabajar y eso hace que uno se meta para adentro. Y las muestras son exposiciones, de la pintura y de quien las hace. Es como mostrarme a mí, y lo presencial es complicado porque están mis obras y estoy yo. A veces preferiría no poder estar.

Con las redes y los medios masivos, me resulta interesante la llegada de lo virtual y las diferentes miradas que alcanza. Hay otro tipo de interacción, con mucha gente que no conozco. Y está bueno el proceso porque la obra se completa con la mirada de esos otros. Aunque no pinto para el otro, lo interesante está en producir y compartirlo.

-Hubo algo ahí que me quiero rescatar, relacionado a la mirada del otro. En la presentación de tu muestra vos explicaste que el espectador puede sacar sus propias conclusiones. Me gustó esta idea de que la obra se complete desde la mirada y la historia del otro.

-Si, creo que el espectador se conecta con la obra desde su propio lugar. Por eso muchas veces ni las muestras ni las obras tienen título, porque no quisiera guiar la mirada de la gente. Creo que los títulos guían, y parece que los públicos a veces necesitan eso. Importa que el otro lo mire y descubra cosas, y vea como lo siente.

-Hace poco mencionaste el peso de la emoción en tus obras. También te referiste a un caos emocional, social y ecológico. ¿Cuáles son las emociones que aparecen en este caos?

-Hay miedo, incertidumbre y angustia. Creo que esas son las principales, pero están mezcladas y forman una que no se como llamarla.

-La última pregunta que me gustaría hacerte a modo de cierre es: ¿Qué le recomendarías quienes les apasiona el arte y quieren dedicarse a eso?

-Que lo hagan. Cuando empecé a pintar me di cuenta que era lo que me gustaba, y por eso siempre daba lo mejor. No es una actividad fácil, como ninguna otra. Estudie Abogacía y Ciencias Económicas, y creo que me va mejor siendo artista que si hubiera sido abogado.

Cuando uno hace las cosas con pasión, apuesta todo a eso. Hay que completarse a uno y animarse. Mucha gente apuesta al arte y se puede, por más que cueste y haya sacrificios. Si es lo que uno quiere le va a ir bien, o por lo menos será muy feliz.
